Associate professor of Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) and chair of the Department of Strategic Communication, Scott R. Hamula, was recognized with the Outstanding Service Award by the Advertising Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
During its members' meeting at this year's conference in Minneapolis, Prof. Hamula was presented with the award as an expression of thanks and appreciation for his exemplary service. Since joining AEJMC and its Advertising Division in 2006, Scott has served in various roles on the division executive committee including secretary, teaching and student research papers chair, and events/social coordinator. He arranged and hosted conference off-sites visits for Ad division faculty members to learn from professionals at advertising agencies and marketers including Carmichael Lynch and Target headquarters (Minneapolis), Energy BBDO (Chicago), AKQA (San Francisco), Rodgers Townsend (St. Louis), Marketel (Montreal), and the Ad Council (Washington, DC). "Coming to this conference and attending these off-sites is a way for faculty to invest in their students' futures and add value to their classrooms. It has been my pleasure to organize these teaching resource opportunities. I am humbled by and thankful for receiving this award."
