Queer Mental Health and Coming Out - Active Minds gb discussion

10/04/16

Contributed by Alexandria Lopez

Join this discussion about LGBT mental health, focusing especially on mental health as it relates to 'coming out.' This meeting will take place on Thursday at 12:15pm in Williams 211. Feel free to bring your lunch.

Ithaca College student A.C. Tierney will be leading this discussion about LGBTQ+ mental health. In recognition of National Coming Out Day, we will specifically discuss how coming out can be connected to the mental health of queer individuals. We of course encourage both queer students and allies to come to this meeting.

This is a safe space where we welcome different voices, so please come by to learn and contribute to this important conversation. As always, newcomers are welcome to all Active Minds meetings. Our general body meetings occur on Thursdays at 12:15pm in Williams 211, where we discuss a different topic each week.

Active Minds at Ithaca College is part of a national organization that is dedicated toward mental health advocacy. We seek to educate the campus and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. Not everyone has a mental illness, but everyone has mental health. Feel free to RSVP or ask a question on our facebook event page:
