Federal Tax Preparation for Community Volunteers (ACCT 10303) will be offered Block II, and will prepare you with a new life skill and also credential you to do volunteer preparation of basic tax returns.

ACCT 10303 is open to all students in all colleges, and will be offered the second half of the semester from 1:00-1:50 pm in Smiddy 325.  No previous experience with accounting or taxes is assumed or required.  The course will certify you in Basic or Advanced VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), a program of the IRS.  If you find you like it, there are non-credit opportunities to volunteer locally for VITA tax clinics during tax season 2017.  And this course will prepare you to understand your own tax situation as well!
