Barney Beins (Psychology) Presents at American Psychological Association convention

Barney Beins chaired a symposium and presented a paper at the annual convention of the American Psychological Association in Denver, Colorado. He also participated on APA’s Council of Representatives, the governing body of the organization.

The symposium was entitled “How psychologists think: Contributions of Dewey, Klineberg, and McKeachie. His component of the symposium was Making learning better: Some contributions of Wilbert J. McKeachie. McKeachie was a president of APA whose research focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning since the 1950s.

Beins also participated in the meeting of APA’s Council of Representatives, which oversees APA’s work on education, science, professional practice, and public interest. He represents the Society for the Teaching of Psychology, which is a division of APA.
