Psychology students Marissa Cardwell ('17), Allie McGuane '17), Chrissy Smith ('17), and Jocelyn Suarez ('17) presented the result of their research at the annual convention of the New England Psychological Association in Worcester, Massachusetts on October 15.
Chrissy and Jocelyn's poster was entitled Laughing at me, laughing at you, and interpersonal traits: Gelotophobia and Katagelasticism. Marissa and Allie's poster was entitled Unrealistic optimism and gelotophobia.
The research focused on personality traits and how people react to humor and laughter. They are students on the Humor Research Team led by Professor Barney Beins.
