VIC Radio takes First Place in national competition

Ithaca College's Internet station, VIC Radio, won the top prize in the Audio Special Broadcast category at the National Student Electronic Media Convention, presented by College Broadcasters, Inc. (CBI).

VIC won for last April's 50 Hour Marathon, an annual event in which four DJs stay on air for over two full days to raise money for local not-for-profit organizations. The winning entry was one of nearly 1,000 submitted to the competition. The award ceremony took place Saturday, October 22 at the Sonesta Philadelphia.

VIC staff recognized for their achievements include Delaney DuBois '16, Kirsten Wise '16, Patty Quijada Salazar '18, Lizzie Freilich '18, JoAnn Castillo '18, Cameron Rance '18 and Alex Bredikin '18.

CBI is a member-driven organization serving students and advisers of college and high school electronic media outlets. Through events, programs and a network of expertise, we provide our members with educational and professional opportunities and facilitate advocacy.
