Times like these raise questions about our deepest convictions and how we live those meanings and values out in the world. This course will explore the social consequences of spiritual and religious ideas and practices, with examples ranging from the African-American Civil Rights movement, Feminist critiques of Christianity, Socially Engaged Buddhism, and the spiritual dimensions of movements for radical social change in American culture past and present.
