Who is Latinx? What does it mean to be Latinx in the US? Register for CSCR 10700 (CRN 43714) and find out!

This interdisciplinary course takes a feminist approach grounded in Latinx knowledges and draws from social sciences and the humanities to examine the experiences of Latinxs in the United States. We start with Juan González's Harvest of Empire and Gloria Anzaldúa's Borderlands/La Frontera. The course will provide students with the basic historical experiences of Latinxs, the significant political issues they face as a community, and the conceptual frameworks used in Latinx Studies. We will focus on the Latinx body and race, labor, education, media, art, public health, language and literature in relation to Latinxs' struggles over their bodies and borderlands.

CSCR 10700-01 meets MW 4:00 - 5:15pm.
