Galway, Ireland Film & Arts Festivals Summer Program

July 8–August 1, 2017; 2 credits; $3,990 (plus airfare)

Over 3 weeks, you’ll earn 2 academic credits and be placed in internship positions on the Galway Film Fleadh (www.galwayfilmfleadh.com) and/or Galway International Arts Festival (www.giaf.ie). Placements will be assigned in discussion with the program organizers.

By the way, Galway was recently named “Official City of Film” by UNESCO and European Capital of Culture for 2020!

You’ll stay in dorms at the National University of Ireland, Galway (www.nuigalway.ie) and watch and learn and do while festivals take over this vibrant seaside city, internationally known for its culture and “craic”… that’s the Irish word for fun!

You’ll be attending and producing dozens of theater, film, music, art, and dance events throughout the city. Working side-by-side with Irish theater and film professionals, you’ll be there to see how it’s done.

On your days off you’ll take day trips to the Aran islands and the Cliffs of Moher. We’ll rent bikes and ride through breathtaking scenery.

You’ll get a crash course in Irish culture and a feast of arts from around the world… and did we forget to mention wildlife and strange sports!?

We’ll be leaving July 8 and returning August 1. The cost is $3,990 per person (plus airfare).

For additional information please contact Susan Monagan (Theatre Arts Management, IC) smonagan@ithaca.edu and Tom Nicholson (Media Arts, IC) tnicholson@ithaca.edu and consider joining us for an unforgettable summer experience of Irish culture and international arts. Slainte!
