Ages & Stages in Our Community is an intergenerational project involving collaboration between South Hill Elementary School 2nd Grade students, Ithaca College students, and “Community Elders.”
We seek adult participants (age 55+) to serve in the “Community Elder” role (Note: The 55+ age requirement is completely negotiable!). Participants do not need to be employees of Ithaca College. Please feel free to invite friends and loved ones.
Please join us for a series of lively and fun activities, interviews, discussions, community service, potluck & other projects.
There are 3 South Hill Elementary School classrooms participating, and each will meet on a different day of the week. We ask that you commit to working with one classroom and attending all associated events (barring unforeseen circumstances, of course!):
Ms. Pritz: Tuesdays; 10:10-11:10am 1/31/17; 2/28/17; 3/21/17; 3/28/17; 4/4/17
Ms. Yacobelli: Wednesdays; 12:30-1:30pm 2/1/17; 3/1/17; 3/22/17; 3/29/17; 4/5/17
Ms. Powell: Fridays; 10:10-11:10am 1/27/17; 3/3/17; 3/24/17; 3/31/17; 4/7/17
All participants will gather for an early evening closing potluck on a date/time to be determined. All activities will take place at South Hill Elementary School (520 Hudson St., Ithaca).
If you or a family member, friend, or loved one is interested in participating, please choose a classroom and call or email Elizabeth Bergman, Ithaca College Gerontology Institute, 607-274-3859; ebergman@ithaca.edu.
