Password Expiration for Netpass, Parnassus, and HomerAdmin Extended to 180
Days
01/18/17
Contributed by Karen Compton
Effective January 16th, 2017, the password expiration period for Netpass, Parnassus and HomerAdmin has been extended from 120 days (4 months) to 180 days (6 months). This means that these passwords will now only need to be changed twice per year instead of three times per year. Some additional notes:
- Netpass
- This change only applies to faculty and staff, since the password expiration for students is already set to one year.
- The new password expiration policy applies to passwords changed after approximately 10:00 am on Monday, January 16th. Passwords set prior to that will not get the new expiration policy until the next time the password is changed.
- The change also applies to departmental and student organization email accounts.
- Parnassus
- The expiration date for the current password has been extended by 60 days (making it a 180-day expiration period from the last time it was set).
- HomerAdmin
- The expiration date for the current password has been extended by 60 days (making it a 180-day expiration period from the last time it was set).
- This change only applies to HomerAdmin, not HomerConnect.
