Seats available in History of Russian Film - Spring 2017

01/18/17

Contributed by Benjamin Rifkin

History of Russian Film is available without prerequisites and no knowledge of Russian is required:  ICC Identities and Power & Justice Themes for both Humanities and Creative Arts perspectives.

Join us and learn how Russian filmmakers changed the art of cinema while working under strict political control. We'll see films by Eisenstein, Mikhalkov, Sokurov, and Zvyagintsev, among others.  (Don't worry - you won't have to pronounce these names!) The class meets on Monday afternoons 3-6:15 pm for lectures and film screenings and a 75-minute discussion meeting on Tuesday afternoons:  MASS 212 / LNGS 212.  All films are subtitled.
