Submitted on behalf of Brian Dickens, Vice President for Human Resources
It is with optimistic regret that we announce the departure of Michelle Rios-Dominguez, Special Assistant to the Vice President/Manager for Diversity and Inclusion, after almost thirteen years of devoted service in support of Ithaca College’s mission of excellence.
Michelle came to Ithaca College in the spring of 2004 as an administrative assistant in support of the director of the Office of Major Gifts in the Division of Institutional Advancement. Recognized for her initiative, positive spirit, and exemplary work, Michelle shined in this role.
Michelle began working alongside Karen McGavin and Carl Sgrecci in the Division of Finance & Administration in May of 2007 until she was recruited to come work for the Office of Human Resources in September of 2008. While in Human Resources, Michelle filled many crucial roles – from Recruiter to Manager for Diversity and Inclusion to her most recent role as Special Assistant to the Vice President.
Michelle’s IC journey has been a storied one – from her work on the Caring and Sharing food and holiday drives, and the Diversity and Staff Councils to her passionate service as Manager of Diversity and Inclusion – Michelle’s “spirit” has been evident in every initiative and task thrown her way. Her talents are many (especially cooking… her blueberry scones are a food group all their own), and she has shown remarkable resiliency through every phase of her journey at the College. Michelle will certainly leave a phenomenal, indelible mark on the fabric of our IC family – for that, we are grateful. We wish her well as she undertakes her role as Manager of Talent Acquisition in the Tompkins County Personnel Department.
Michelle’s last day will be Friday, January 27, 2017. A reception will be held on this day in the Office of Human Resources (front desk/rotunda area) from 3 pm – 4 pm. Please feel free to stop by and wish her well.
