RA/TA for Summer Ithaca Writers Institute
Description The Ithaca Writers Institute, a residential two-week summer writing conference for high school students, seeks four Ithaca College students to serve as Teaching Assistants/Resident Advisors from July 1st to 14th, 2017. We may ask the students hired to participate in a paid training session prior to the start of the program. Training details will be discussed during the interview process. Pay for TA/RAs is $9.70/hour with a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. Room and partial board are included.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties will include assisting in writing workshops led by Department of Writing faculty; developing lectures, assignments, and exercises; responding to student writing; and chaperoning and mentoring students in writing labs, dorms, and extracurricular activities, including off-campus field trips.
Required Qualifications:
Preference will be given to sophomore and junior Writing majors, but all students with a strong writing background and some experience with the Writing Department are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidates will be responsible role models, excellent writers, and enthusiastic teachers with expertise in at least two of the following genres:
