Show Me the Money - Grants 101 – 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
Taughannock Falls - 3rd Floor of the Campus Center

Lunch will be provided – limited to first 20 registrants

Interactive Session on transforming your research ideas into fundable grants:

Overview of Federal/State and private funding sources.
Grants procedures at IC, including budget development and compliance with financial accounting rules.
Demonstrations on how to search for grant funding opportunities using database tools such as: Foundation Center, SPIN, Grant Advisor, etc.

Discussion with Dr. Jean Hardwick, Biology, regarding her experiences obtaining a successful 3-year National Institutes of Health (NIH) research grant Dr. Hardwick will also talk about her efforts at leading a team of IC faculty in submitting a recent grant proposal (pending) to the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. (HHMI).

Opportunity for questions and feedback– Please bring your ideas/concepts for research or other projects for which you would like to secure grant funding. We’ll provide feedback and suggestions to help you in your search for support.
