IC Democrats is back and looking for e-Board members!!!

Ithaca College Democrats (IC Dems) is looking to revitalize and re-engage with the campus and South Hill communities. College Democrats of America is committed to the Democratic Party and its policies and works to draw college students into the political process, while providing them with the necessary tools and skills to be a productive and informed citizen.

We are seeking new e-Board members to join the team as we begin to reestablish the organization. Available positions include Director of Politics & Development, Director of Finance, Director of Communications, and Secretary. The general responsibilities of each position are provided below. We’re also looking for general body members and anyone who is interested in becoming active in local politics. Position Responsibilities:

Director of Politics and Development

  1. With the President, develop and implement separate political and fundraising activities and events on IC’s campus and in the South Hill community

  2. Organize and execute any and all fundraising and/or political activities and events

  3. Engage with and maintain contact with the local Democratic Committee and Cornell Dems

  4. Develop, implement, and manage all philanthropic activities

  5. Work with the Director of Finance to secure funding for IC Dems

Director of Communications

  1. Develop, execute, and manage all efforts to publicize IC Dems, its meetings and events/activities, through digital media outlets

  2. Secure publicity in on and off campus print media outlets

  3. Manage all social media accounts and Media Relations

  4. Inform current and prospective members of IC Dems’ activities and events

Director of Finance

  1. Manage the club’s finances and financial records

  2. Be responsible for submitting a budget to OSEMA to secure funding for future semesters

  3. Work with other executive board members to budget for events, plan fundraisers, and philanthropic direction

Secretary

  1. Take minutes at all general body and executive board meetings

  2. Be responsible for keeping record of minutes as well as maintaining the member email list
