Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (STAT) is a student organization at Ithaca College whose mission is to make connections between students and alumni while promoting school spirit and philanthropy. The student organization works in conjunction with Office of Alumni Relations, the Alumni Association Board of Directors and various other Ithaca College community members to reach their mission. Some of STAT’s previous work this past semester is promoting the Cortaca Jug through IC Spirit Week and help with Alumni Weekend and First Bomber’s Weekend.

STAT’s 6-person E-Board and 50 members works together to have fun interesting programs to promote school spirit and stronger alumni connections. Ashley Ahl, the president, said, “I believe STAT is important because we help students engage with the campus community and realize the importance of giving back to IC, even while they are still a student.” Each member also belongs to a committee that dedicates their time to develop different aspects of the organization and its programs. To become a member, you can apply in the Fall of 2017. To retain membership, you have to maintain a certain number of engagement points to keep the organization involved and impactful.

One of these impactful programs is “I Love IC Week”, a “weeklong lovefest that celebrates all things IC.” During the week of February 20th, there is a program every single day to celebrate different aspects of IC. For example, on Monday, February 20th, Kick Back to Give Back will be taking place at 7 PM in Emerson Suites, where teams of 5 will compete in a series of ten Minute to Win It-style events featuring trivia and entertainment. For more information about the rest of the week, take a look at their Facebook event. Also, check out their website, Facebook, and their Traditions Challenge app!
