03/09/17

Contributed by Orlando Kittrell

The Office of State Grants (OSG) would like to invite you to participate in the OSG Faculty Mentoring Program. The goal of the mentoring program is to create or provide pre-professional development opportunities and guidance to HEOP, CSTEP and CSTEM students (includes ALANA students and students of color) giving them a better chance for real-time success in college and beyond graduation.

Faculty Mentors can participate in a wide variety of enriching program activities with OSG students but also to offer our students indirect and direct support with valuable research, experiential learning, and to engage OSG students and staff in other areas of career/professional development that are of interest to each faculty member.  Interested faculty should contact Dr. Orlando-Marquez Kittrell, CSTEP director: okittrell@ithaca.edu or 4-5762.

The Ithaca College CSTEP, HEOP and CSTEM programs support historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged groups from New York State. OSG provides intrusive academic support services to eligible Ithaca College students participating in the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), the Careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (CSTEM) program and the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP).

The Ithaca College CSTEP and HEOP programs are funded in part through the Office of Postsecondary Access, Support and Success (OPASS) at the New York State Department of Education.
