Exchange partner Akita International University (Japan) visits campus Tues. 3/21

Ithaca College's exchange partner Akita International University (AIU) offers semester, full year, and short-term study abroad opportunities in English for IC students, as well as opportunities for international collaboration for faculty.  There will be an informational meeting this Tuesday, March 21, 12:10-1:00, in Friends 205 with an AIU representative who will be visiting campus.  The meeting is open to both students and faculty members wishing to learn more about what AIU has to offer.

Akita International University is a four-year liberal arts university located in Akita city (population about 313,000) in the Tohoku region of northern Japan.  AIU was established in 2004, and since then has been recognized as one of the top universities in Japan for its uniqueness and innovative approach.  It is a small institution, offering Bachelor’s degrees in Global Business and Global Studies, and Master’s degrees in Japanese Language Teaching, English Language Teaching, and Global Communication Practices.

The undergraduate program at AIU offers all subject matter courses taught in English. Japanese language and Japanese studies courses are offered for international students to enhance their understanding of their host country.
