"The Art of Protest" is currently on display in the Department of Art History hallway display case, on the ground floor of Gannett.
"The Art of Protest" provides a historical overview of protest art from the 1930s until today, with a focus on banners, posters, and T-shirts. It highlights protest art from the labor movement of the 1930s and 2010s, anti-war movements of the 1960s and 1980s, indigenous rights movements of the 1990s, the Queer Pride movement of the 1990s and social justice and feminist movements that continue today. It was curated by Jennifer Jolly and installed by Matt Glaysher and the department's Museum Practices class. The exhibit will be on view for the next month.
