IC My Future Retirement Planning Event - April 19, 2017

The Office of Human Resources invites you to attend the IC My Future Retirement Planning Event on April 19. The event will be held 10am to 2:15pm in the Emerson Suites. There will be 3 sets of concurrent education seminars available for you to choose from depending on what interests you and where you are at in the retirement planning process. Please feel free to attend just one of the seminars, or three!
10am - 11:15am Retirement Sessions
- Tomorrow in Focus: Saving for Your Ideal Retirement (Suite A)
Believe it or not, your retirement starts now. No matter how old or young you are or where you are in your career, your retirement begins when you start saving for it. Join us for an interactive exploration of retirement saving and learn how to help create an effective plan to help maximize your retirement potential.
- To and Through Retirement (Suite B)
Financial Security is a goal many of us share. That goal represents a large part of the value of your employee benefits package as a faculty or staff member of the College. This is an invitation for you to learn more about how to generate enough income in retirement. Join us to learn more about creating a personal pension with an annuity.
- IC Retirement Policy & Procedures Explained (Suite C)
Get answers to your questions related to retiring from Ithaca College. Much of your success in retirement will depend on how skillfully you plan for it. This workshop is a good place to start! During this session, you will be provided with information to help better prepare you to navigate the retirement process.
11:30am - 12:45pm Retirement Sessions
- Paying Yourself: Income Options in Retirement (Suite A)
It’s time to consider a little payback. You’ve made a lot of sacrifices in order to put away enough money to retire. When it’s finally time, do you know how to get the money back? There are a lot of considerations, rules and tax implications that make these decisions very important and more complex.
- Medicare & Social Security (Suite B)
This workshop will provide you answers to questions you have about Social Security and Medicare. The seminar will be more beneficial to you if you review your Social Security statement before coming to the session. Your free statement is available online through your my Social Security account at: www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount.
- Estate Planning, Wills, and Trusts (Suite C)
Estate planning, wills and trusts go hand in hand. Feel secure about your belongings and sharing with your loved ones as you learn the importance of estate planning, how the process works, key assets to consider, definitions, and strategies
1pm - 2:15 Retirement Sessions
- Halfway There: A Retirement Checkup (Suite A)
Give your retirement savings a checkup. TIAA’s workshop leader will provide information to help you determine where you need to be in your retirement savings and how to get back on track if you’re behind.
- Preparing for Retirement: Health Care and Beyond (Suite B)
During this session, you will learn about the Emeriti Retiree Health Care Program. You will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding what health insurance options are available to you and your eligible dependents once you retire and turn age 65, how those plans coordinate with Medicare, and how to get reimbursed from your Emeriti Health Account for qualified medical expenses once you retire.
