From Senior Vice President Nancy Pringle, Provost Linda Petrosino, and Professor Gwen Seaquist, representatives of the Ithaca College bargaining committee.

We are very happy to announce that the college has reached a tentative contract agreement with the union representing our part-time and our full-time contingent faculty members. This news means that there will no longer be a strike on March 28 and 29.

On Sunday, March 26, we met from 1:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. to finalize the contract. We would like to thank the union bargaining committee for working so diligently with us to resolve the remaining contract issues, arrive at an agreement, and avert a strike. We are deeply grateful for the commitment to come to an agreement during this session.

The next step is for the union to conduct a ratification vote by its membership. We will be in touch with the Ithaca College community when further information is available regarding the vote.

We are confident that this new contract is fair, that it addresses the concerns of our valued faculty members, and that it enables the college to maintain excellence in a fiscally responsive manner.

Once again, we would like to commend everyone on the committee for working so hard today to come to a final agreement with us.
