Contributed by Robert Ziomkowski

Elementary Latin I (LATN 10100) is being offered in the Fall (2017) on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:10–2:25. You can use it for the ICC Identities theme (Humanities perspective).

Intermediate Latin (LATN 20000) is being offered in the Fall (2017) on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:35–3:50. — Some prior knowledge is required for this course, so it’s ideal if you have had a bit of Latin in high school. Please contact Dr. Robert Ziomkowski for details (rziomkowski@ithaca.edu).

Read about the myths of ancient Rome in the original language and improve your knowledge of English literature and History, both of which are deeply influenced by Roman thought and culture.

Latin will help you understand the specialized vocabulary of many different courses, including those offered by HSHP, Pre-law, and practically everything offered by the School of Humanities and Sciences. Over half the words in English are derived from Latin. Improve your English vocabulary while studying another language!
