Update from the Presidential Transition Team

06/29/17

Contributed by Jason Freitag

Greetings! The Presidential Transition Team has been meeting regularly since Commencement, and is pleased to provide this update on our activities.  We eagerly await President Shirley Collado’s arrival on the campus on July 3rd.

Engagement

We are happy to announce that the Transition Team will be hosting an Ice Cream Social to welcome President Collado to the campus.  Please join us on Thursday, July 6th from 3:30-5:00PM at the Dillingham Center East Patio (near the Fountain).  This event is open to the entire campus community (faculty, staff, students and retirees), and we hope to see everyone who is on campus stop by to say hello.

In our last update, we noted that President Collado wants to engage groups in warm, transparent, and organic ways as she transitions into the campus community. The Transition Team is working on a series of events, large and small, to help her meet the campus community.  Please look for future updates and Intercom announcements for events that will happen in the coming weeks and months.

Presenting Our Community

The Presentations Group of the Transition Team has collected a rich array of materials that represent who we are as a community at Ithaca College, and this will be part of the welcoming material that will be given to President Collado.  Thank you to everyone who provided videos, performance schedules and a broad collection of material that so wonderfully demonstrate how we engage with our students.

Thank you, as well, to everyone who left messages on the boards the Transition Team placed around the campus.  We are passing to President Collado your welcoming words, thoughtful observations and honest critiques as a representation of the vibrancy of our campus community.

As we move from anticipating President Collado’s arrival to her presence on the campus, the Transition Team will continue with our charge of helping her make a smooth and successful entry to Ithaca College.  We recognize that input from the community is crucial to this success.  Please feel free at any time to reach out to any member of the Transition Team (listed below) to provide your feedback or ask questions about the transition process.

Best regards,
