Presidential Transition Team Update and All-College Gathering Reminder

Greetings! The Presidential Transition Team has been meeting regularly over the summer, and we are working closely with President Collado to help her make a smooth and successful entry into Ithaca College. A few reminders and updates:

All-College Gathering

Faculty, staff, and students are all welcome at this year’s All-College Gathering at 8:30 a.m. on August 24 in the Emerson Suites. We know that many students won’t be back on campus yet, but we are very excited to welcome those of you who can make it. This year marks the first time that the All-College Gathering (previously called the All-College Meeting) has been open to students.

The transition team is pleased to be working with the president on this event. We invite you to come out that morning to hear the president share her thoughts on joining the campus and building community at Ithaca College. We look forward to gathering for this moment of beginnings -- of the new academic year and of President Collado’s tenure -- and we encourage everyone on campus to attend. Light refreshments will be available at 8:30 a.m., and the program will begin at 9:00.

Opportunities to Meet with the President

As the fall gets under way, President Collado will be meeting with all of the schools and divisions, and will hold a number of smaller meetings with a wide array of groups across campus. The transition team has been working with her to facilitate her wish to see as many people and groups as she possibly can, and thinking of creative ways to make the most of our spaces, her schedule, and the many types of settings in which people could gather for meaningful interaction. President Collado will outline her plans for some of these events during the All-College Gathering. Please watch for announcements of opportunities to engage with her throughout the year.

Keep Your Thoughts Coming!

The transition team will continue to meet during the academic year, and we firmly believe that input from the community is instrumental for our work. Please feel free at any time to reach out to any member of the transition team (listed below) to provide your feedback or ask questions about the transition process.

We’d like to thank everyone who gave us materials that showcase what an engaged and vibrant campus we are. President Collado expressed to us how pleased she was to receive this wide-ranging body of work. We also want to thank everyone who attended our ice cream social during the president’s first week on campus in July! We were happy to see so many people come out to welcome President Collado, and to share an afternoon with colleagues and friends.
