Working on your syllabus? Be sure to include “Conversation: Started” on Friday, November 3, and attend the symposium with your students. It will be held at the A&E Center and will feature IC faculty, alumni, and students, as well as speakers from around the country.
Special guests from different academic institutions representing various fields of study will be on IC’s campus on Friday, November 3, for “Conversation: Started,” a symposium that discusses and explores the connections between theory, practice, and performance. These national innovators and thought leaders will be joined by our impressive IC faculty, alumni, and students to create a one-of-a-kind academic symposium.
“Conversation: Started” is offered as part of the celebration of the inauguration of President Shirley M. Collado during the Weekend on South Hill, a three-day event honoring the college’s 125th anniversary.
The afternoon will feature three separate events:
1 - 2:15 p.m.
IC’s talented faculty and students from across the schools will take the stage to showcase exciting collaborations and innovations within their respective disciplines and across boundaries.
2:30 – 3:45 p.m. and 4 – 5:15 p.m.
Join the conversation with President Collado’s invited guests from around the country during two roundtable discussions. The theme of the first session is the power of cross-institutional collaboration and innovation in higher education. The theme of the second session is identifying and cultivating talent among students, and how that transforms institutions.
