Jennifer Germann, Associate Professor of Art History, completed the Attingham Summer School in the United Kingdom in July 2017.
The Attingham Summer School is an 18-day program for the study of the art, architecture, and social and cultural history of British country houses and gardens. Invited participants from around the world visited houses dating from the 16th to the 20th century in Sussex, Derbyshire, and Oxfordshire and enjoyed lectures from distinguished U.K. scholars and curators. Highlights included Hardwick House, Chatsworth, Bolsover Castle, and Blenheim Palace. Professor Germann’s participation in this program contributes to her research project on the Portrait of Dido Elizabeth Belle and Lady Elizabeth Murray (Scone Palace, Perth, Scotland) and their residence at the Kenwood House, Hampstead.
