The Ithaca College community is invited to help welcome the Class of 2021 and our new transfer students to campus at the 2017 Convocation and Community Picnic on August 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in The Glazer Arena of the A & E Center.
The annual Convocation ceremony marks the official start of the new academic year, while the community picnic that follows is a great time to meet and mingle with IC's newest members, and to catch-up with colleagues and acquaintances from across campus.
This year's ceremony will include a performance by students in the IC West African Drum & Dance Ensemble, a run-through of the alma mater "Ithaca Forever," a special gift for the Class of 2021, remarks from our new President Shirley M. Collado -- and of course plenty of food and socializing at the community picnic immediately following!
The IC Community Picnic is an opportunity for our new students to meet other members of the Ithaca College community. In an effort to welcome them to campus, I encourage you to personally greet as many new students as possible. In addition to learning a little bit about students on an individual level, this is also a great time for you to talk a little bit about yourself -- what you do at the College, how long you have been an employee, and what personal interests you may have. Students also appreciate any advice or suggestions you can offer them.
Please join us for this fun, friendly and engaging start to the new year!
Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact MaryAnn Taylor at mataylor@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3041. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
