The Ithaca College Department of Occupational Therapy (OT) is inviting children aged 2-10 with special needs and/or challenges with eating to participate in a Food and Fun Group this semester.

Groups will be held on campus from 4:15-5:30 on either Wednesday or Thursday. They will be conducted as part of a lab experience for Masters level OT students and will consist of sensory based open playtime, simple structured activities, and a food activity with peers.  Occupational therapy students, under the supervision of faculty clinicians, will design and guide the activities and assist children in participating. Children will be supported in exploring new foods and having a positive mealtime experience with their peers. Siblings are also welcome.

Wednesday Group Dates: 10/4, 10/11, 10/25, 11/8, 11/15, 11/29 and 12/6

Thursday Group Dates: 10/5, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, 11/16, 11/30 and 12/7

Please email Kim Wilkinson kwilkinson@ithaca.edu or Rita Daly rdaly@ithaca.edu if you would be interested in participating.

There is no cost or payment for this group experience. This group provides a learning experience for Ithaca College students and a play and social meal experience for kids with special needs and their siblings.  We will not be providing direct occupational therapy services and participation should not be considered as a replacement for professional therapy services.
