A hands-on opportunity awaits all students the week of Sept 11-15 when IC alumni Leza Raffel, president of The Communication Solutions Group spends the week on campus as part of the “Professionals in Residence” Program.
Leza will maintain office hours at The Park School (Park 378) to review resumes, discuss career opportunities or – if you are really interested – sit in on client phone conferences and staff meetings.
Here are some date specific events that require RSVPs:
“Unsung Heroes Publicity Panel”: September 12, noon- 1PM
Mark your calendar, Tuesday, September 12, noon-1 pm. Leza Raffel will be introducing students to a panel of Ithaca nonprofit organizations that all seek communication support from IC students. Learn about unique ways you can apply your writing, publicity, film, photography or design experience to real-world projects with these organizations AND build your resume while doing so. Opportunities available this semester and next will be discussed.
Pizza will be provided. The meeting will be held in Park 311, Dean's Conference Room.

Onsite Public Relations at South Hill Elementary School
Grab your notepad, laptop, camera, video camera or microphone and audio recorder and join us in helping South Hill Elementary School garner publicity for its fifth-grade terrarium making project. You will have the opportunity to interview students and teachers, photograph or film their progress, draft press releases and contact local media.
Transportation to South Hill Elementary is available.
Available dates to participate are:
September 11: 12 noon – 1 pm
September 12: 8:20 AM- 9:20 AM or 9:20 AM – 10:20 AM
September 14: 8:20 AM- 9:20 AM or 12 noon – 1 PM
