Do you teach first-year students? Encourage them to come out to the first event in this year’s First-Year Speaker Series!
First-Year Experience is pleased to announce the First-Year Speaker Series at Ithaca College! Aimed specifically at first-year students, but open to the campus community, we are pleased to present three speakers over the course of the fall semester aimed at helping students engage with others, challenge assumptions and learn the tools for success in a new community! Our first event is coming up at the end of this month, and we need YOUR help to fill it up!
Taking the Adversity out of Diversity
Monday, September 25th at 7:00pm in Emerson Suites
A masterful storyteller, Dr. Maura Cullen utilizes a variety of interactive exercises to get the core of the problem: our fear of being judged and misunderstood. We encourage professors to make an event out of the evening - encourage your students to go as a class, count attendance as part of an assignment or extra credit, even attend yourself if you teach a seminar! Anything you can do to encourage our students to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity is appreciated. Thanks for all you do in helping to support our first year students!
