This is a prolific September for Theatre Arts Assistant Professor Saviana Stanescu Condeescu, presenting an award and with multiple readings of her work in New York City and Ithaca this week.

On Sunday, September 24, at 2 pm, at the New Ohio Theatre in NYC, as part of the pop-up AMERICAN AF Festival centralizing black, brown, queer and radical voices, Stanescu will direct a staged reading of DREAM ACTS (written by Chiori Mityagawa, Jessica Litwak, Mia Chung, Andrea Those, and Saviana Stanescu), a piece based on interviews with DREAM ACT-eligible youth. Following the reading, Stanescu will facilitate a panel discussion on "DREAMers are US - Between DACA and the Unknown" with DREAMers, activists and the Dream Acts artists. IC Theatre Arts alumni actors Oghenero Gbaje, Ashton Muniz, and Kate Owens, are featured in the reading, while Angela Griggs is the Stage Manager. Learn more at: https://americanaf.org
