I would like to take this opportunity to announce a number of changes in the various offices that make up Auxiliary Services.

Karen Serbonich Retirement

Karen joined Ithaca College in July, 2003 and after 14 years of dedicated service in Mail Services and General Services Karen will be retiring on Friday, November 17, 2017. There will be a retirement reception for Karen on Monday, November 13, 2017 in the Klingenstein Lounge from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Please look for a separate Intercom announcement in November and make plans to attend this reception and wish Karen well on her retirement. Anyone wishing to contribute to a retirement gift for Karen, or wishing to speak at her reception please contact me at dgprunty@ithaca.edu or x3313.

New Director of General Services, Michael Howze

After conducting a national search, Mike Howze has been selected as the next Director of General Services at Ithaca College. Mike has over 20 years of management and leadership experience in a variety of industries and will be joining us in his new role on October 16, 2017. I have every confidence that Mike will be very successful as the Director of General Services and I hope that you will wish him well as he begins his new position.

Peter Kilcoyne Retirement

Peter has served Ithaca College for 28 years and has worked in the Office of Publications, College Relations, Marketing Communications and most recently as the Manager of Print Production. Peter will be retiring on October 20, 2017, and his retirement reception will be on Thursday, October 19 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm in the Taughannock Falls Room in the Campus Center. Please look for a separate Intercom announcement on Peter’s reception and plan to join us to send Peter off and thank him for his many years of service. If you would like to contribute to Peter’s retirement gift, and/or speak at Peter’s reception please contact Karen Serbonich or Julie Kingsley in General Services.

Glen Harris as the Interim Manager of Print Production

Due to Peter’s retirement Glen Harris has agreed to serve as the interim Manager of Print Production. Glen has significant experience and will manage all day-to-day operations of the Print Production area and staff for the next few months. I would like to thank Glen for agreeing to step-up into this interim role and the rest of the Print Production staff in advance for their hard work through this transition period.

Reorganization in Campus Center and Event Services

In order to better serve the campus community a minor reorganization has taken place in the Campus Center and Event Services Office. Peter Alario assumed the role of Associate Director of CC&ES on October 1, and in this role Peter will be responsible for all day-to-day event planning operations. All of the event staff will report to Peter, while the Campus Scheduling, Campus Center and Business Coordinator areas (along with Peter) will report to Margie Malepe. Please congratulate Peter on his new position.

Andrea McClatchie as Assistant to the Executive Director

Effectively immediately, Andrea McClatchie will move from her role in the CC&ES Office and assume the role of Assistant to the Executive Director of Auxiliary Services. I look forward to working more closely with Andrea in her new role. Again, please congratulate Andrea on her promotion.

If you have any questions about these changes please contact me at dgprunty@ithaca.edu or x3313.
