Emerson Halloween 10/29: Host an Activity

10/12/17

Contributed by Angela Kramer

It's October, that means that the staff of Emerson Hall are looking for student groups/clubs/organizations to sponsor an activity or game in our public space for Emerson Halloween.

Are you a member of a student group that is looking for a great community service project? Please consider volunteering to create and run an activity for young children at Emerson Halloween!  Emerson Halloween is on 10/29 from 6-8pm.

Emerson Halloween is a traditional program that creates a positive trick or treating environment for the children of our faculty, staff, and students.  The parents love it because it is condensed into one building and the children love it because they have so much fun and they get candy. As an added bonus the residents have fun because the building is decorated and who isn't having fun when children are happy and dressed up like lions and tigers?

Again, Emerson Halloween is on 10/29  from 6-8pm.  The RAs do a lot to make this program work, but we need your help to really make sure that all the children and parents have a blast!  We have limited public space this year (and we are going to have to get creative) so please contact me if you would like to reserve one as it will be done on a first come first serve basis.

This year we are going with a simple Halloween theme and we are again rated G.  Each floor this year will have an individual theme, but you don't have to fit into said theme.

Please note that your student group is responsible for the cost of the activity that you choose as well as set up/clean up.

If you are interested please contact me at akramer1@ithaca.edu to reserve your space.  Please make sure that you reserve your space as soon as possible because again there is limited space. All space requests must be received by 10/18.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Angela Kramer at akramer1@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-1092. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
