Registration is closing the morning of Friday, January 5 for a winter break offering of the staff and faculty R.A.D. self-defense course for women.  The course dates will be January 6, 7, 13, and 14 (consecutive Saturdays and Sundays) from 2 to 5 p.m. each day.

This session of the R.A.D. course is open to all staff and faculty members who identify as female.  The program is welcoming, positive, and accessible for every age group and level of physical ability or previous experience in self-defense, including first-timers!  Participants must be able to attend all four class dates to receive certification and access to refresher training for life.  Course registration is $15 to defray printing and materials costs, and payable during the registration process.

The requirement to make the R.A.D. copyrighted curriculum open to women only is a stipulation of the national R.A.D. office.  However, Ithaca College recognizes that physical and sexual violence can impact anyone, and that any community member may be interested in opportunities for self-defense training.  Anyone on campus who does not identify as female and is interested in self-defense training options besides R.A.D. can contact the Office of Public Safety to discuss their needs.
