Savoyards Ithaca is holding auditions for their May 2018 production of Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Gondoliers." Auditions will be held in February 4th, 6-9 pm in Beeler Hall, Whalen Centre.
"The Gondoliers" satirizes the foibles of the ruling class and republican values. Who has the right to rule? What does it take to be a good leader? Set amongst the fading courts and emerging bourgeois societies of Italy, The Gondoliers features stolen infants, secret marriages, hidden identities, and star-crossed lovers!
The Gondoliers will be directed by Ellen Jackson '15, Associate Producer and Director of Educational Outreach at Opera Ithaca, and Resident Artist Director at Pittsburgh Festival Opera Summer 2018. Nicole Cronin '19 returns as Music Director, while Professor Mary Holzhauer serves as Répétituer.
