Please join Student Affairs and Campus Life as we sponsor professional development opportunities for our staff and for the larger campus during February and March.  The speakers are also co-sponsored by the Educational Affairs Staff Development Committee.

We have planned two (2) speakers and four (4) webinars.  All are open to all members of the campus community.

Monday, February 12 from 1-2 pm join us in Klingenstein Lounge for a presentation by Dr. Gregory Eells, Director of Counseling Services at Cornell University.  Dr. Eells is a nationally recognized expert and presenter on mental health and resiliency in the college student population.  His talk “Psychological Flexibility and a Growth Mindset” will grow our understanding of our students and how to best support them in striving for success.

On Thursday, March 8 join us from 2-3:30 pm in Emerson Suite A for an address: “Higher Education Past the Tipping Point:  Creating an Ecosystem for Student Success” by Dr. Vijay Pendakur.  Dr. Pendakur is the Dean of Students at Cornell University and the editor of the highly acclaimed book “Closing the Opportunity Gap:  Identity-Conscious Strategies for Retention and Student Success” (Stylus Publishing, 2016).

Four (4) webinars will also be offered.  Again, these are open to all members of the campus community. These webinars are offered through studentaffairs.com and feature highly regarded speakers.
