The School of Humanities and Sciences' Dean's office will be hosting a farewell reception for Kathy Lucas on her retirement after 37 years of service on Monday, March 26 in the Handwerker Gallery beginning at 4:00 pm.

In her 37 years at Ithaca College, Kathy has worked in the President’s Office, the Office of Summer Session and Graduate Studies, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, and since 1991 in the H&S Dean’s Office holding positions as academic counselor, director of the exploratory program, and for the past ten years assistant dean of student services. Motivated by her love of learning, Kathy earned at Ithaca College both her B.S. in Personnel and Industrial Labor Relations and M.S. in Communications during her career at the College.  Kathy has enjoyed working directly with students, seeing the academic growth and independence in them as they enter into college at orientation to graduation.

While Kathy will miss her Ithaca College family dearly, she looks forward to heading south to Florida with her husband to enjoy a warmer climate, time spent with her granddaughters, and spending time with her son and his family. Kathy is excited to continue to learn new things, get involved in more activities with her new "free time" and looks forward to traveling with her husband.

Please join us as we celebrate Kathy's career and tremendous hard work over the years! If you would like to contribute to Kathy's retirement gift, please contact Lynda Walters in Muller 201, 4-3533 or email hsdean@ithaca.edu
