Dear Ithaca College community members,
On behalf of the search committee for Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, we would like to update the campus community on our progress. We were very pleased by the large and diverse group of talented and accomplished academic leaders, representing a range of disciplinary backgrounds, who expressed strong interest in joining our community as our next provost. After a rigorous review, the search committee narrowed the candidate pool to 10 highly qualified candidates, whom were interviewed in person by the full committee as well as speaking with President Collado by video or telephone. The committee members and President Collado were very impressed by the strength, depth and breadth of these individuals — as well as their energy and enthusiasm for joining Ithaca College.
Following extensive deliberations and discussion, which was informed by reference checks and additional due diligence on the candidates, the search committee narrowed the pool down to a group of four finalists who will be invited to campus in the weeks ahead. We have now turned our attention to constructing finalist schedules and assembling delegates from faculty, students and staff to participate in and provide input on the campus visits. At the conclusion of those visits, and based on the collective feedback received, the search committee will meet with President Collado to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate
We, as co-chairs, would like to thank each of our committee members for their incredible dedication to this effort, and Leslie D’Arcy for her expert and tireless staffing support.
Sincerely,
Jean Hardwick and Jack Powers
