Volunteers needed for Joel McHale Comedy Event

Are you interested in working in live entertainment?  Do you want to put your customer service skills to use in a professional event management setting?

If so, we are currently recruiting for Crowd Ushers, Ticket Scanners, and General Volunteers for the Joel McHale comedy event on Sunday, April 15th.

Select individuals will be assigned to Ticketing, however for Crowd Manager and General Volunteer positions the following will be required:
+ Read the Volunteer Guidebook and sign a letter of agreement
+ Complete one 30-minute online crowd manager training
+ Attend one 60-minute in-person orientation
+ Volunteer for five hours on Sunday, April 15th
 
Crowd Manager/General Volunteer Position Summary
- Usher patrons to their assigned seats
- Control and restrict patron access as needed
- Escort patrons to receive first aid if necessary
- Be knowledgeable of emergency evacuation procedures
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn all aspects of your position
- Take the extra step to provide excellent customer service
- Carry out all Ithaca College and Athletics and Events Center guidelines and procedures
- Follow instructions from the Volunteer Manager, House Manager, Public Safety, or their immediate supervisor
- Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, carrying up to 15 pounds, walking up and down staircases, and standing for up to four hours or more
- Volunteers are expected to stay through the entire performance, until all patrons leave the facility, and upon completion of all tasks
- All Crowd Manager volunteers must complete one 30-minute online training course and attend one 60-minute orientation.
- Total commitment of approximately seven hours
