Dr. Evis Sammoutis (Assistant Professor in Music Composition) will have his new work for choir and electronics premiered in Nicosia, Cyprus, on Friday, 23 March. The work was composed for the Georgia Tech Chamber Choir, which will also perform the composition in Atlanta in April. His composition, entitled “Isthmus,” sets a text by Emily Dickinson with electronics based on field recordings made of various types of wind and water sounds from the Fingerlakes region and Cyprus.
