I am pleased to announce that Amy O’Dowd has been appointed Assistant Dean for Student Services in the School of Humanities and Sciences, effective April 2, 2018.  She replaces Kathy Lucas, who completed her 37-year career at Ithaca College on March 30.  Amy has served, with distinction and grace, as the School’s Academic Service Coordinator since October 2016.  In that role, she has not only immersed in College policies and School procedures, but also established good working relationship with H&S faculty and other College partners and stakeholders.  Amy has a Master’s degree in Teaching and is enrolled in graduate studies in Student Affairs in Higher Education.  She also has experience in academic advising in the United States and Canada.  Through a competitive internal search and a thorough process, Amy emerged as the top candidate.  She will thus provide stability and value to the position, playing a key role in strengthening the School’s student services.
