The vendor for Ithaca College’s Emergency Notification System (ENS) will be taking the system offline for five hours this weekend while it undergoes planned maintenance work. The vendor will provide a backup for the college to distribute any emergency messages, but there could be a delay in the receipt of those messages beyond the normal immediate timeframe.
The maintenance will take place very early on the morning of Saturday, April 7, from midnight until 5 a.m. Any emergency notices or instructions that need to be sent to the campus community during this time will still be able to be delivered by email, and by voice and text to those who have signed up with the ENS to receive messages by those methods.
The maintenance will not affect the Outdoor Warning System, which uses a siren and loudspeaker to alert the campus community in the event of an emergency.
As always, all members of the college community are urged to select the voice and text message ENS options, since it is important to have multiple ways to receive alerts in order to ensure access to essential information.
An additional ENS planned maintenance downtime will take place this summer on Saturday, June 2, from midnight to 1 p.m.
