This Wednesday at noon in Kling Lounge Dr. Christopher House will be offering a talk titled Communication Matters!
This discussion will explore and question the ways that communication establishes and enacts identity and power dynamics. Dr. House will lead a discussion that critically analyzes social identities as they are communicated, shaped, and are reshaped through communication and in thinking about communication from the standpoint of becoming global citizens.
The goal of this discussion is to inform audiences members of the ways various communicative processes are used to construct dominant and non-dominant racial social identities, and how those influences come to bear on the ways in which we perform our own social identities.
As always, all members of the IC community are invited!
