FLEFF: See one of the important Asian films of the year at Cinemapolis: POP EYE.
Fresh from its crowd-pleasing debut at Sundance last year, THE WASHINGTON POST declared POP AYE as the "thinking person's feel good film of the summer."
It will screen in Ithaca as part of the FINGER LAKES ENVIRONMENTAL FILM FESTIVAL.
A twist on the classic road film, it features a middle aged architect, Thana, and an elephant, Pop Eye, who Thana is convinced is his long-lost childhood friend.
POP AYE was submitted by Singapore as its entry for Best Foreign Language film in this year’s Academy Awards.
Elizabeth Wijaya with E & W Films will be present for a post-screening Q & A.
See it at Cinemapolis, Thursday, April 12, 6:50 PM.
