Ithaca College School of Music's Bi-Annual Gospel Music Festival on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall
The festival features over 200 high school singers invited from New York, Washington, D.C., Boston, and Maryland. The Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Octavio Más-Arocas, will be accompanying the singers. Pastor Chantel Wright from the Songs of Solomon Music Academy will be the guest clinician joined by guest soloists Taiwan Norris and gospel music sensation Ms. Callie Day. The festival is directed by Dr. Baruch Whitehead and Dr. Janet Galván.
The concert will include “Hear My Prayer,” by Moses Hogan, “Awesome and Incredible,” by Stan Spottswood, “City Called Heaven,” arranged by Josephine Poelinitz, and “Call Him Up,” by Keith Pringle, among other gospel favorites.
Sticks and Bars, a youth Marimba Ensemble from Washington, D.C., will be playing a pre-concert set prior to the beginning of the Gospel Festival from 7:30-8:00 p.m. in Ford Hall. Sticks and Bars is directed by Ithaca alum Premila Mistry.
This concert is free and open to the public.
