The D&I Discussion Circle is wrapping up the spring semester with three final guest speakers. Please join us today at noon in Kling Lounge for Communication Matters! with Dr. Christopher House. Dr. Donathan Brown's talk titled, Voter ID: The only Clear and Present Fraud is set for next Wednesday, April 18th. We will end the semester with Dr. Paula Ioanide and her talk Allying with Equity: the Meaning of Diversity at IC on May 2nd.

April 11th at noon in Kling Lounge -- Communications Matters! with Dr. Christopher House
Dr. House's discussion will explore and question the ways that communication establishes and enacts identity and power dynamics. He will critically analyze social identities as they are communicated, shaped, and are reshaped through communication and in thinking about communication from the standpoint of becoming global citizens.

April 18th at noon in Kling Lounge -- Voter ID: The only Clear and Present Fraud with Dr. Donathan Brown
With much debate over the existence of wide-spread voter fraud and the voter identification laws that have followed, much controversy continues to exist at the intersection of race, voting rights and socio-political retrogression. Dr. Brown will discuss relevant questions like: How many individuals have actually been convicted of voter fraud in states like Colorado and Texas? What role do these laws play with respect to race and maintaining political dynasties?

May 2nd at noon in Kling Lounge -- Allying with Equity: the Meaning of Diversity at IC with Dr. Paula Ioanide
Dr. Ioanide's talk will focus on defining and understanding how implicit bias works in higher education, with a view toward identifying some best practices for reducing bias-related harms.

Students, faculty and staff -- All are welcome!
