The Office of College Relations and Communications, in conjunction with our partners in IT, have been hard at work revamping the Ithaca College website, and we can’t wait to share it with you! Version 1 of the new ithaca.edu—featuring streamlined navigation, improved usability, and a visually engaging responsive design, all backed by a new content management system—will launch in early May.
Can’t wait to see it? Join us for one of our upcoming Campus Community Sneak Peek sessions:
· Monday, April 23, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Taughannock Falls Conference Rm
· Thursday, April 26, 12:05 to 1:10 p.m., Emerson A
We’ll show off the highlights of the new site while also sharing the research and thought process behind the revamp. This is the first complete overhaul of the college’s website in 12 years. The web has changed a lot in that time, and the new Ithaca.edu was designed to meet the needs of today’s visitors—including prospective and current students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni—who expect it to showcase IC, provide information in a clear and logical way, and be accessible and easy to use on phones and tablets as well as desktop computers.
After Version 1 is launched, our team will continue to release additional features. We will also continue working with content managers to migrate remaining content from the old content management system through the summer and fall. A variety of training workshops and guides will be offered to help content managers learn the new content management tool and help produce content that adheres to best practices.
More information will be shared through our Work in Progress College Relations and Communications blog and via Intercom.
