The Senior Leadership Team has made a determination that both non-exempt (hourly) and exempt (salaried) staff who work commencement weekend will be given an additional day off in recognition of their commitment to this important weekend.
Commencement staff are strongly encouraged to take Friday, May 25 as their additional day off (as that will provide staff with a 4 day Memorial Day weekend), but the additional day off can be negotiated on a different day with approval of their supervisor.
For non-exempt (hourly) staff all hours worked during Commencement Weekend will be paid at time and a half. Staff will record this time worked during Commencement Weekend on their online timecard in Parnassus as “overtime at 1.5”.
We are excited to be able to offer this additional incentive to staff to participate in this event that is the important and meaningful culmination of many years of hard work for our students.
We are still seeking staff to work on Commencement Day in the stadium to assist the family and friends of our graduates. If you are able to work, please sign up via this survey. We will be contacting you shortly to confirm your assignments.
All staff who work on Sunday, May 20 will be provided with a voucher for food that can be used in the stadium and can also join our students and their families for light snacks and celebration at the reception on the Campus Center quad following the ceremony.
