Panelist Professor Mike Hoffman, Mark Darling, and Liz Walker will be discussing topics regarding food and sustainability. Mike Hoffmann is the executive director of the Cornell Institute for Climate Smart Solutions, which was created to help raise the profile of the challenges posed by a rapidly warming climate and to help those who grow our food adapt to the changing conditions as well as reduce their carbon footprint. Liz Walker co-founded and has directed EcoVillage at Ithaca since its inception in 1991, and has lived there with her family since the first buildings were completed. Mark Darling, during his twenty-eight year tenure at IC, has had a number of responsibilities. Some of these include: leadership of the waste management program, coordinator and then supervisor of the Recycling/Resource Management Program, and development and coordination of programs and activities designed to foster sustainable operations and practices.
